The technology-driven utopia envisioned by our predecessors was a pipe dream. Even as communications technology advances by leaps and bounds, allowing us to share information and to “network” more effectively than ever before, human beings still exist in a near perpetual state of exploitation and barbarism. Worse yet, this connectivity has come at the expense of real emotional connection and human contact.
